POLAND – Corey Devoe smacked an RBI double as Locke Mills defeated Mechanic Falls 8-5 Monday.
Reliever Gary Rumley came in during the first inning and gave up three hits, putting a stop to the Mechanic Falls’ effort.
Alex Smith was solid defensively for Mechanic Falls. Smith pounded a three-run homer and a double in the losing cause.
Andy Valley 3, Gray 0
GRAY – Dustin Gilbert recorded the lone extra base hit of the game as Andy Valley slipped past Gray Post 86 to post a 3-0 win Monday in legion ball.
Chris Brewer was the winning pitcher and also the only repeat hitter throughout the contest for Andy Valley (15-5).
Twilight
Pine State 7, L-A 3
LEWISTON – Aaron Cieslak went 2-4 and had three RBIs as Pine State nudged past Lewiston/Auburn 7-3 in Twilight League baseball action Monday.
Chris Leconte and Chris Doughty were the only other repeat hitters for the Pine State win.
Lewiston/Auburn could not capitalize on a bases-loaded ninth inning. Tim Mercier had two hits for the Lewiston/Auburn effort.
