LEWISTON – Josh Oxton scored a dazzling 28 points to power Endicott College to a 68-65 win over Bates in men’s basketball action Tuesday.

Oxton advanced the score to 67-65 for the Gulls (4-4) on a 13-footer with just 27 seconds remaining, before Nemanja Marinkovic connected on the front end of a one-and-one with four seconds left.

Zak Ray attempted a desperation 3-pointer from the right corner, but it fell short as time expired. Rob Stockwell and Jon Furbushed paced the Bobcats (9-4) with 18 points apiece in the loss.
