AUBURN — Justin Fongemie notched 18 points to lift St. Dom’s to a 46-39 triumph over Waynflete in a boys’ varsity basketball game on Wednesday.

Justin Richardson chipped in with nine points to help ensure the victory for the Saints (2-2).

Lance Callender and Lucas O’Neil each scored seven points for the Flyers (1-3).

Dirigo 65, Carrabec 40

DIXFIELD – Trevis Knapp downed a game-high 24 points as Dirigo rolled past Carrabec 65-40 in MVC basketball action Wednesday.

Leading 27-15 at halftime, the Cougars outscored Carrabec 22-8 in the third quarter to blow the contest open.

Mike Holmquist and Spencer Berry each added nine points for the Cougars (1-4). Dirigo was 15 for 17 from the foul line.

Tom Therrian netted 15 points, while Brandon Coutts chipped in with 13 for the Cobras (0-4).

Mt. Abram 49, Monmouth 43

SALEM – Jordan Norton poured in a game-high 19 points to lead Mt. Abram to a 49-43 triumph over Monmouth in an MVC boy’s basketball matchup Wednesday.

Mt. Abram carried a 27-20 lead into the break, then were only outscored by one point in the second half to seal the victory.

Eric Field chipped in for the Roadrunners (4-0) with 13 points, while Aaron Adams added 11.

Scott Ogden led the Mustangs (0-5) with nine points, while Sean Holbrook chipped in with eight.

Lisbon 77, Jay 64

LISBON – Levi Ervin downed a career-high 27 points to help Lisbon slip past Jay and post a 77-64 victory in a MVC basketball matchup Wednesday evening.

Brendan McGivney added 16 points, while Mike Wilkins chipped in with 13 points for the Greyhounds (2-2).

Ryan DiPompo sank 19 points and Brad Loon added 15 for the Tigers (2-3).

Fryeburg 52, Gray-NG 41

GRAY – Aaron Kasprak drained 17 points, including four 3-pointers, as Fryeburg slipped past Gray-New Gloucester 52-41.

The game was evenly matched throughout the contest until the fourth quarter when the Raiders gradually pulled away, outscoring the Patriots (0-5) 16-8. Ryan Wallace added 14 points for Fryeburg (4-1).

Gray-New Gloucester was paced by Chris Bennett with 14 points and Josh Levasseur with 10.

Hall-Dale 79, Georges Valley 43

THOMASTON – Ben Laughlin scored 27 points, notched six rebounds and recorded nine steals to spark Hall-Dale to a 79-43 trampling of Georges Valley.

Jack Leat added 17 points and Matt Wheelock had 11 for the Bulldogs (4-0).

The Georges Valley effort was highlighted by a respectable fourth quarter performance that saw the Buccaneers outscore Hall-Dale 15-14.

Hockey
Leavitt 4, Maranacook 2

AUBURN — Kurt Knight and Justin Rouillard had a goal and an assist each to lead Leavitt to a 4-2 victory over Maranacook in Class B hockey action Wednesday evening.

Jon Pelletier and Corey Maillieg also contributed goals for the Hornets. Kenny Gauthier turner away 25 of 27 in the net for the win.

Dustin Ouellette and Willy Herman both scored an unassisted goal for the Black Bears.
