BALTIMORE, Md. – The University of Maine handed the University of Maryland-Baltimore County a 10-7 setback in America East baseball action Saturday afternoon.
The Black Bears (32-19) completed the three-game sweep giving them the No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Aaron Izaryk paced the Bears attack with three hits including a double, Gregg Creek, Joe Hough, Ryan Quintal and Matt McGraw each added a pair of singles.

Buckfield wins pair
BUCKFIELD – Justin Dodge scored the winning run in the opener, while plating the game-winner on a fielder’s choice in the nightcap as Buckfield won both games, 8-5 and 2-0, of a doubleheader in EWC baseball action Saturday afternoon.
Billy Sullivan stroked a two-run single in the fifth inning of Game 1 for the Bucks (11-2), plating Jamie Henderson who had doubled and Dodge for the eventual game-winner.
Henderson came on in relief in the sixth to preserve the win.
Chris Savage pitched a one-hit shutout in Game 2, walking only one batter and striking out six along the way. Buckfield scored the first run of the contest when Henderson singled in Matt Lowell, who had tripled earlier in the inning. Dodge scored Jacob McAlister for a safety in the sixth frame on a fielder’s choice.
Joe Stockmeyn led the Flyers’ (0-12) offensive effort with a pair of hits in Game 1, including a double.
Girls’ lacrosse
NYA 21, Oxford Hills 9
SOUTH PARIS – North Yarmouth Academy jumped out to a 13-3 lead at the end of the first half and cruised to a 21-9 win over Oxford Hills in girls’ lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.
Caty Vonbrecht, Molly Moss, and Meghan Meintel each contributed five goals to lead the Panthers (11-0) in their 11th straight victory.
The Vikings were led by Brianna Thompson and Leah Jutras with four and two goals, respectivley.
