SOUTH PARIS – Edward Little’s Gina Gaetani scored on a pass from Danielle Martineau for the first goal, and Heather Martineau scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Red Eddies (7-3) staved off Oxford Hills 2-1 in a KVAC field hockey clash Tuesday.
Bri Thompson socred the goal for the Vikings (5-6-1).
Mt. Blue 4, Morse 0
BATH – Sarah Pluck was the first of four different Mt. Blue players to score a goal in a 4-0 KVAC triumph over Morse.
The Cougars (6-5-1) led 1-0 at the half before Ashley Weeks, Heidi Judkins and Heather Groder broke it open in the second stanza.
Ashley Lewia assisted Judkins’ goal. Aubrey Ramos made two saves for Mt. Blue, while Courtney Goth stopped 14 shots for the Shipbuilders (3-8-1).
Erskine 2, Oak Hill 1
WALES – Brittany Oxley scored both Erskine goals, including the game-winner with a minute left in the first overtime, to give the Eagles a 2-1 KVAC victory over Oak Hill.
Julie Lizotte put the Raiders (1-10-1) on top two minutes into the game before Oxley tied it for the Eagles (4-7-1) with three minutes remaining in the first half. Noel Hinkley made eight saves for Oak Hill.
Mt Ararat 2, Lewiston 1
TOPSHAM – Mt. Ararat’s Kristy Farmer scored two goals including the game winning goal in overtime as the Eagles slip past the Blue Devils 2-1 in OT. Lauren St. Laurent scored on a pass form Alli Beakney in the second half for Lewiston to bring the game into OT.
Soccer
EL 1, Oxf. Hills 1
AUBURN – Elyse Conant scored on a pass from Allyson Thomas in the first half to give Edward Little the lead, but Heather Hudanish answered in the second half to earn Oxford Hills a 1-1 tie in KVAC girls’ soccer.
Brittney French had eight saves for Edward Little (5-4-2). Mary Darcy also made eight stops for the Vikings.
Lewiston 4, Leavitt 0
TURNER – Kelsey Varney chalked up a goal and two assists to lead unbeaten Lewiston past KVAC foe Leavitt, 4-0.
Gen Lysen gave the Blue Devils (11-0-1) a 1-0 halftime edge, and Katie Morin, Laura Martel and Varney expanded upon it after the break. Leavitt’s Jordan Beall made 20 saves.
Gorham 5, Poland 1
POLAND – Courtney McLeod scored three goals to push Gorham past Poland 5-1 in the WMC.
Ashley Winger added two goals and an assist for the Rams (6-5), who trailed 1-0 on Megan Gray’s goal at 1:45 of the first half before rattling off five unanswered goals.
Laura Carlson also scored for Gorham.
Poland goalkeepers Kasey Darnell, Erica Belanger and Kayla Lefebvre combined for 21 saves.
Carrabec 3, Monmouth 2
MONMOUTH – With Monmouth’s goalie down after a collision, Becky Duhoux found the empty net with 7:32 remaining in regulation to lift Carrabec to a 3-2 MVC win.
Bianca Cloutier scored both Monmouth (5-6-1) goals in a wild first half, including the tying tally with two seconds left. Katelyn Estes and Cori Goodwin connected for the Cobras (4-8).
Mt. Abram 1, Madison 0
MADISON – Mt. Abram’s Lindsay Perlson scored on a pass form Amanda Coburn as the Roadrunners shut out Madison 1-0 in the MVC. Ashley Marandola made 17 saves for the Bulldogs.
Dirigo 2, Winthrop 0
WINTHROP – Brooke Weston’s unassisted goal less than three minutes into the second half catapulted Dirigo to a 2-0 MVC win over Winthrop.
Katie Hutchinson scored for the Cougars (7-4) on an assist from Alexa Kaubris with 13:37 left.
Winthrop’s Katie Brooks (11 saves) and Dirigo’s Jessica Blaisdell (10 saves) stood out in goal. The Ramblers dropped to 7-3-1.
