LISBON – John Charette and Jason Hayes each notched a goal to lead Lisbon to a 2-0 win over Livermore Falls in boys soccer action Monday.

Charette’s goal came in the first half off a pass from Jared Church. Hayes chipped in with an unassisted goal in the second half of the contest for the Greyhound (5-5) win.

Mike Wilkins made five saves to preserve the shutout, while Matt Labbe made 12 saves for the Andies effort.

Mtn. Valley 6, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD – Pat Harris tallied three goals as Mtn. Valley sailed past Dirigo 6-0 in boys soccer Monday afternoon.

Jeff Fuller chipped in with a pair of goals and a pair of assists for the Falcons (5-3). Corey Merrill added a goal for the win as well.

Corey Wilson had an easy day in net, stopping four shots for the win and shutout. Lenny Hall made seven saves in the Cougars (1-8-2) losing cause.

Mt. Abram 5, Jay 0

SALEM – Sam Witherspoon and Ryley Adams each notched a goal and an assist as Mt. Abram defeated Jay 5-0 in soccer action Monday.

Wiley Nalle, Nate Manning, and Jimmy Creznic each chipped in with a goal for the Roadrunners (10-0-1) win as well. Mt. Abram’s defense was solid throughout the game, helping the team to their victory.

Andy Sperry faced only two shots, recording one save for the Roadrunner shutout. The Tigers (1-10) Shane Cougault stopped 17 shots for the effort.

Monmouth 1, Winthrop 0

WINTHROP – Mark Wade scored the lone goal of the game to lift Monmouth 1-0 over Winthrop in MVC soccer action Monday afternoon.

Wade took a hard low shot from inside the box and found the inside of the net near the post to record the unassisted goal for the Mustangs (8-3) with 35-35 left to play in the contest.

Kyle Pelletier made six saves in net for Monmouth, while the Ramblers’ (3-8) Mike Gingras stopped 13 shots in net for the losing effort.

St. Dom’s 1,

Sacopee Valley 0

SOUTH HIRAM – Shawn Longley booted the solitary goal at 5:: of the first half to lift St. Dom’s to a 1-0 win over Sacopee Valley in WMC boys’ soccer action Monday.

Pat Ouellette dribbled the ball down the left side for the Saints and beat the defender, before tapping the ball across field to Longley.

Hawks goalie Michael English braved the bitingly cold elements to make 12 saves, while Nate Hamlyn protected seven for the Saints to earn the shutout.

Girls’ Soccer

Dirigo 2, Lisbon 0

DIXFIELD – Kassi Putnam notched a goal and an assist to help lift Dirigo to a 2-0 win over Lisbon in girls soccer action Monday.

Alexa Kaubris netted the first goal early in the first half of the game to start the Dirigo (6-4) scoring.

Jess Blaisdell made nine saves on all nine shots she faced to secure the win and shutout, while Belle Mathieu made 11 saves for the Greyhound (6-5) effort.

Field Hockey

Mt. View 4, Oak Hill 1

WALES – Amy Miles blazed three goals to power Mt. View to a 4-1 win over Oak Hill in field hockey action Monday.

Lindsey Hunter zipped off an unassisted goal from the left side on a deflection for the Mustangs’ (6-4-1) eventual game-winner.

Chelsie Thibault converted a pass from Elyse Emery for her first career varsity goal and the only one that the Raiders (1-9-1) would score in the loss.

Goalie Meagen Carman made 10 saves for the Mustangs, while Noel Hinkley matched the statistic for the Raiders.
