LISBON – Erica Merrit netted a pair of goals as Lisbon rolled past Hall-Dale 3-0 in MVC field hockey action Wednesday.

Emily Poloquin also scored for the Greyhounds (4-1), while Bethany Williams and Kristin Lafley combined for two saves in net.

The Bulldogs (2-2) were outshot 16-8 on the day.

Freeport 2, St. Dom’s 1

FREEPORT – Nichole Engel posted the game-winning goal 13:45 into the second half of the game to give Freeport a 2-1 victory over St. Dom’s in field hockey Wednesday.

Amy Kearns netted the first goal, and Alex Heinz had both assists for the Falcons’ (1-3) first win this season.

Although St. Dom’s (3-1) dominated the game, the Saints only recorded one goal by Michela Fyler off a pass from Elisha Dorso in the second half of the contest.

Traip 4, Poland 3

POLAND – Sara Lamarca scored an unassisted goal with 5:44 left in the second overtime to lift Traip to a 4-3 victory over Poland in a nail-biter of a WMC girls’ soccer matchup.

Jessica Collins, Jesse Lawson and Kelly Huddlesten also scored for the Rangers (1-3-1) to complete the scoring. Paige Dubay made an impressive 24 saves in net to notch the win.

Jessica Hodgkiss and Becky Lindquist tallied first-half goals for the Knights (0-4), while Brittany Copp scored with just 57 seconds left in regulation to force the game into overtime. Elsie Cummings turned away three shots in net for Poland.
