LISBON — Voters in Tuesday’s election filled 11 seats on various municipal boards and weighed in on two bond issues.

The first bond issue, authorizing the Town Council to issue up to
$320,000 in a 10-year bond in order to receive up to $1.2 million in
matching funds from the Maine Department of Transportation, was
approved by voters. The money will be used to construct the final phase
of the Lisbon Trail System,
previously approved by the council.

The second bond question, which sought approval to issue general obligation
securities of the town to fund the construction of new water lines and
system along Route 9 from Route 196 to Upland Road, was approved by voters. The bond will remedy
contamination of residential wells from Barker Brook up Upland Road to
Route 9. The amount of the bond is not to exceed $1.72 million for a term not to
exceed 30 years, which had been approved by the Town Council.

In municipal elections, according to unofficial results:

Lori Pomelow won the three-year, at-large seat on the Town Council held by Michael Bowie.

In District I, Lisbon village, Mark Lunt won a three-year seat on the council being vacated by Janet Henry.

In District II, Lisbon Falls, Michael Bowie won a three-year seat on the council being vacated by Norma Wells.

For the three-year term for water commissioner, James Gurney Jr. won.

Running unopposed were:

• Donald Fellows for the three-year, at-large seat on the budget advisory board being vacated by Lori Pomelow.

• Kathi Yergin and Herbert “Pete” Reed for two three-year seats on the
School Committee being vacated by Deborah Danuski and Janice Comber.

• George Caron for the three-year seat on the School Committee that
had been vacated by Faye Ingersoll and filled by Robin Tupper by
appointment until Nov. 3.

• Dorothy Fitzgerald for a three-year seat in Ward II on the budget advisory board being vacated by Walter Morse.

For the two seats being determined by write-ins:

• Dorothy Fitzgerald was appointed a District II budget advisory
board member for one year. The seat was formerly held by Richard Main.

• The District I budget advisory board member for three years, a
position formerly held by Roger Cote and later by Donald Fellows, is
still undetermined.
