NEW YORK – Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi received a two-game suspension from the WNBA on Saturday for inappropriate conduct toward game officials.

Taurasi was punished for her actions at the end of Phoenix’s 87-84 loss to the Detroit Shock on Friday night. Taurasi had 13 points and eight assists, but missed two 3-pointers in the final 13.9 seconds that would have tied the game.

The former Connecticut star, in her fourth WNBA season, will serve her suspension by sitting out consecutive games against the Houston Comets on Sunday and next Saturday.
