Charlie and Nancy Ashton
SABATTUS — Charlie and Nancy Ashton of Sabattus celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary recently with a barbecue with family and friends. The event was held in Sabattus and was planned by their sons and daughters-in-law.
Mr. Ashton and the former Nancy Hill were married July 19, 1969, at Community Baptist Church in Sabattus. They have four sons, Scott Ashton and wife, Terri, of Sabattus, Kevin Ashton of Sabattus, Jason Ashton and wife, Karyn, of Turner and Erick Ashton and wife, Amy, of Auburn. Their grandchildren are Ava, Zackary, Nate and Devin.
Mrs. Ashton recently retired from Mercy Hospital. Mr. Ashton recently retired from Bath Iron Works.
The couple enjoyed an anniversary trip to Alaska.
