PORTLAND (AP) – Matt Keith tallied the only goal of the post-overtime shootout, leading the Portland Pirates past the Worcester Sharks 5-4 on Sunday.
The game was tied after two periods, with Graham Mink and Tomas Plihal scoring for the Sharks (17-15-1-6) and Keith and Brett Skinner connecting for the Pirates (20-13-1-5).
Zenon Konopka and Brian Salcido sent the Pirates ahead 4-2 midway through the third period, but the Sharks tied it 4-4 after Lukas Kaspar hit the net at 12:31 and Steve Bernier collected his second goal of the season for the Sharks with 2:36 remaining in regulation.
Following a scoreless overtime, Keith, shooting last, beat Nolan Shaefer.
Portland goalie Mike Wall stopped 24 shots to earn the win, while Shaefer made 33 saves in the loss.
