LOWELL, Mass. (AP) – Kent Huskins, Igor Pohanka, Shane O’Brien and Bruno St. Jacques all scored their first goals of the season to lift the Portland Pirates to a 4-3 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Friday night.
St. Jacques scored the game-winner at 11:05 of the third period with a 45-foot slap shot into the top left corner of the net.
Geoff Peters set up two of Portland’s goals, while St. Jacques, who played last season for the Lock Monsters, assisted on one. Andrew Ladd scored twice for Lowell, including a short-handed tally at 5:08 of the third period that tied the game at 3-3. David Gove also scored for Lowell.
