PORTLAND (AP) – Denney Tomori pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings and two relievers completed the team shutout as the Portland Sea Dogs defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3-0 on Sunday to complete a sweep of their three-game Eastern League series.

The loss was New Hampshire’s 10th in a row, a franchise record.

Portland pitchers struck out 12 New Hampshire batters and allowed only five hits.

The Sea Dogs (55-48) scored the game’s only runs in the fourth. David Murphy led off with a double, and Jim Buckley’s RBI single was sandwiched between a pair of errors by New Hampshire first baseman Chip Cannon. Two runs came home on the second error, a mishandled grounder down the first-base line hit by Sheldon Fulse.

The Fisher Cats (51-55) had several scoring threats, with the best chance coming in the fifth inning when runners reached first and third.

Tomori (1-1) earned the win, while Jim Mann notched his third save by striking out the side in the ninth inning.
