ORLANDO, Fla. – Tayshaun Prince scored a career-high 25 points, and the Detroit Pistons won their seventh straight game by beating the Orlando Magic 101-89.

Orlando dropped its 13th straight game to secure the NBA’s worst record. The Magic will have the best chance – 25 percent – of landing the No. 1 pick in next month’s draft lottery. Their selection can fall no lower than fifth.

Richard Hamilton scored 15 points with six assists for the Pistons, and Corliss Williamson added 13 points and six rebounds.

Chauncey Billups missed his second straight game with a sprained left ankle, but Lindsey Hunter and Mike James combined for 14 assists filling in for the starting point guard. James had 12 points to go with his eight assists.

The Pistons has a season-high 34 assists.

Cavaliers 91, Heat 80

CLEVELAND – Jeff McInnis scored 16 points, LeBron James added 11 assists and the Cleveland Cavaliers snapped a seven-game losing streak, 91-80 over the Miami Heat.

The Cavaliers won for just the second time in 13 games, a slide that began when McInnis injured his right shoulder on March 16 and resulted in Cleveland dropping from NBA playoff contention.

McInnis had also missed Friday night’s loss in Miami with a sprained left ankle.

But with their floor leader back, the Cavaliers again played with intensity at both ends of the floor. McInnis added eight assists.

Sonics 119, Mavericks 99

SEATTLE – Rashard Lewis scored 25 points and the Seattle SuperSonics avoided being swept by the Dallas Mavericks this season with a 119-99 victory on Saturday.

Dallas, which had a six-game winning streak snapped, played without No. 2 scorer Michael Finley, who sat out because of back spasms.

Rookie guard Marquis Daniels led the Mavericks with a career-high 33 points.

The Sonics are going to be an NBA lottery team for the second year in a row and the Mavericks are headed back to the playoffs, where they reached the Western Conference finals last season.

But Dallas looked like the lottery team as Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash had horrible shooting games. Nowitzki scored 10 points on 3-for-15 shooting, while Nash, who didn’t score a basket until 5:59 was left, had four points on 2-for-10 shooting.

Hornets 92, Bucks 87

MILWAUKEE – Jamaal Magloire scored 26 points and the New Orleans Hornets beat Milwaukee 92-87 Saturday night, preventing the Bucks from clinching home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Both Miami and New Orleans are 40-40, one game behind Milwaukee for the fourth playoff spot in the East with two games to go in the regular season. The Heat lost to Cleveland 91-80 Saturday night.

Keith Van Horn, playing with a bruised right hand, missed a 3-pointer from the left wing that would have tied the game at 88 with 39 seconds left.

Jazz 82, Rockets 69

SALT LAKE CITY – Andrei Kirilenko had 15 points and eight rebounds and Gordan Giricek scored 23 points Saturday night to lead Utah past the Houston Rockets 82-69, keeping the Jazz tied for the final playoff spot in the West.

Utah entered the game tied with Denver and Portland in the race for the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference. The Nuggets beat the Trail Blazers 110-100 in overtime Saturday to tie Utah with a 42-38 record, although Denver holds the tiebreaker over the Jazz.

The Jazz got Houston center Yao Ming in foul trouble early and took advantage with a 41-28 rebounding edge.

Jarron Collins had nine rebounds, Tom Gugliotta pulled down eight more and Carlos Arroyo scored 13 points for Utah, which guaranteed a winning season with its 42nd win.

Knicks 102, Wizards 98

WASHINGTON – Tim Thomas and DeMarr Johnson each scored 22 points, and Frank Williams hit four free throws in the closing seconds of overtime to lift the New York Knicks to a 102-98 win over the Washington Wizards.

The Knicks played the fourth quarter and overtime without by star guard Stephon Marbury, who had a cold, and starters Kurt Thomas and Nazr Mohammed.

Marbury hit just 2-for-10 from the floor and finished with four points.

Nuggets 110, Blazers 100

DENVER – Carmelo Anthony scored 30 points, including six in overtime, and the Denver Nuggets took a major step toward their first playoff appearance in nine years with a 110-100 win Saturday night over the Portland Trail Blazers.

With two games remaining, Denver took a one-game lead over Portland and remained tied with Utah for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Utah beat Houston 82-69 Saturday night. Denver owns the tiebreakers over both Utah and Portland.

Anthony scored seven of Denver’s last nine points in regulation.

, capped by a 17-foot jumper that made it 94-94 with 3.7 seconds left. He then hit two jumpers early in overtime and added a fast-break slam dunk on a pass from Earl Boykins for a 104-95 lead with 1:39 left.

Nene added 18 points for Denver. Marcus Camby had 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Boykins had 14 points.

Zach Randolph and Darius Miles each had 23 points for the Trail Blazers, with Randolph adding 11 rebounds. Derek Anderson had 21 points.

Boykins’ layup gave Denver an 83-78 lead with 6:37 left in regulation, but Portland chipped away at the deficit. Miles hit a 3-pointer to make it 87-87 with 3:12 remaining. Anderson’s 3-pointer put Portland ahead 92-90, but Anthony countered with a driving layup with 29.6 seconds left.

After Randolph hit a fadeaway jumper with 8.2 seconds remaining, Anthony countered again to force overtime.
