OTTAWA – Scott Stevens scored early in the third period, Martin Brodeur made 26 saves for his 66th career shutout and the New Jersey Devils edged the Ottawa Senators 1-0 on Saturday night.
It was the teams’ first meeting since the Devils eliminated the Senators in seven games in the Eastern Conference finals last season.

ST. LOUIS – Keith Tkachuk scored twice, and Chris Osgood made 21 saves for his 39th career shutout in the St. Louis Blues’ 2-0 victory over the Florida Panthers.

NEW YORK – Tony Amonte scored the tying goal in the third period and then fed Marcus Ragnarsson for the game-winner 1:01 into overtime to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers.
Hurricanes 3, Kings 2
RALEIGH, N.C.- Rookie Eric Staal scored with 2:16 left in overtime, giving the Carolina Hurricanes a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
Ron Francis and Danny Markov each scored a power-play goal in the second period for the Hurricanes.
Kevin Weekes finished with 33 saves.
Maple Leafs 4, Oilers 1
TORONTO – Alexander Mogilny scored twice and had an assist, and Ed Belfour made 34 saves as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-1.
Mats Sundin and Robert Reichel also scored for the Maple Leafs, 3-0-1 in their last four games.
Lightning 9, Penguins 0
TAMPA, Fla. – Vincent Lecavalier had three goals and Nikolai Khabibulin made 15 saves for his 33rd career shutout to lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 9-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Lecavalier scored two second-period goals and completed his third career hat trick with 14:29 left in the third. Khabibulin was rarely tested, but did make a save on a shot by Rico Fata from close range midway through the second.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Serge Aubin scored with 8:32 left, finishing off another Atlanta Thrashers rally and sending the New York Islanders to a rare home loss, 4-3.
Canadiens 3, Sabres 0
MONTREAL – Jose Theodore got his NHL-leading fourth shutout and drew an assist on Chad Kilger’s goal, leading the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
Predators 4, Red Wings 3
DETROIT – Scott Walker’s power-play goal with 57 seconds left capped a four-goal third period, giving the Nashville Predators a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings.
Scott Hartnell, Vladimir Orszagh and Martin Erat also scored for the Predators, who trailed 3-0 going into the third period.
Sharks 3, Capitals 2
WASHINGTON – Jonathan Cheechoo’s goal snapped a second-period tie, and the San Jose Sharks edged the Washington Capitals 3-2.
The Sharks, who broke a three-game winless streak, have beaten Washington eight straight times. San Jose had just one win in its previous 10 games (1-5-5-1).
