NORWICH, Conn. (AP) – Mike Cervenak’s three-run homer in the seventh inning broke a 5-5 tie as the Norwich Navigators eventually beat the Portland Sea Dogs 8-6 Tuesday in the Eastern League.
Cervenak finished the game with three hits and five RBIs. He’s got seven hits in his last two games for Norwich (50-44).
Matt Palmer (3-6) came out of the bullpen to win his second game in three days. He allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. Alberto Montes pitched a perfect ninth for his 13th save of the year.
James Johnson (0-2) suffered the loss in relief, allowing three runs on two hits in three innings.
Stefan Bailie and Mike O’Keefe hit homers in the game for Portland (46-50).
