MIAMI – Mark Hendrickson earned his first win in seven starts since the Dodgers acquired him from Tampa Bay, and the Los Angeles Dodgers extended their winning streak to nine games Sunday with a 7-3 victory over the Florida Marlins.

Los Angeles rallied off Scott Olsen (9-5) in a six-run seventh inning that included three consecutive walks, two with the bases loaded.

Hendrickson (1-4) allowed three runs and six hits in six innings for the Dodgers, who lost 13 of 14 games following the All-Star break. Los Angeles climbed over .500 at 56-55.

Cardinals 7, Brewers 1

ST. LOUIS – Jeff Suppan (9-6) matched his season high with seven strikeouts and allowed four hits in 7 1-3 innings.

Juan Encarnacion hit a three-run homer off Chris Capuano (10-8), and Scott Rolen added a two-run homer for the Cardinals, who have won two straight after their second eight-game losing streak of the season. They lead the NL Central by 3 games entering a four-game series at second-place Cincinnati.

Braves 6, Reds 4

CINCINNATI – Jeff Francoeur hit a two-run triple in the eighth against Gary Majewski (4-4) to tie it and scored the go-ahead run on Adam LaRoche’s sacrifice fly to help.

Andruw Jones and Matt Diaz homered for the Braves, who avoided a three-game sweep and ended a three-game losing streak. Macay McBride (3-1) pitched a perfect seventh, and Bob Wickman worked the ninth for his fifth save.

Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 559th career homer.

Cubs 6, Pirates 1

CHICAGO – Ronny Cedeno hit a three-run homer and Rich Hill (2-5) had a career-high nine strikeouts in seven innings, allowing one run and five hits.

Chicago finished an 11-game homestand with an 8-3 record, the first time it has won eight games on a homestand since May 1998.

Giants 6, Rockies 2

SAN FRANCISCO – Matt Cain (8-8) had a career-high 12 strikeouts in seven innings, and Pedro Feliz drove in two runs as San Francisco won for just the second time in 13 games.

Aaron Cook (7-10) allowed five runs and nine hits in 5 1-3 innings.

Padres 3, Nationals 2

SAN DIEGO – Brian Giles hit a two-run homer and singled home Dave Roberts with the winning run in the 10th off Micah Bowie (0-1).

Starter Jake Peavy allowed one run and four hits in 5 1-3 innings, striking out six and matching a season-high with five walks.

Washington’s Alfonso Soriano hit his 31st career homer leading off a game.

Dbacks 4, Astros 3

PHOENIX – Luis Gonzalez tied Lou Gehrig for 26th place with his 534th double, then broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth when he scored on Carlos Quentin’s broken-bat single against Andy Pettitte (10-12).

Claudio Vargas (9-8) gave up a two-run homer to Lance Berkman in the first but blanked the Astros for the next five innings.

Jorge Julio struck out Morgan Ensberg with runners on first and third for his 14th save.

Pettitte dropped to 1-5 against Arizona, giving up four runs and eight hits in 7 1-3 innings.
