Greg Kennagh, a senior at Telstar High School in Bethel, shows the half-ton of trash collected during the Upper Androscoggin River clean-up on May 20. Students from the Telstar Challenge Course, in rafts towing garbage scows, cleaned up a 4 1/2-mile section of the river. Items included a car bumper, oil tank, bedspring, baby carriage, electrical conduit, paint cans and a 1950s turntable record player. The Upper Andro Anglers Alliance, in co-operation with others, hosted the event.
