MINOT – The Minot Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Minot Town Office when Paul Lodge will show a video on current passenger rail service in Maine and the outlook for future expansion.

The video features a discussion of Maine passenger rail service presented by Patricia Quinn of Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority. Her talk is illustrated with scenes of Maine railroads.

Lodge, a railroad enthusiast, is a retired teacher from Edward Little High School and a long-time resident of Minot.

As a volunteer for local cable access television, he produces the Train Time program as one of his activities for the Great Falls Model Railroad Club.

Lodge is a founding member of the club, which recently celebrated 25 years as a nonprofit organization in the Lewiston-Auburn area.

For the past 10 years, Lodge has also volunteered to make railroad safety presentations for a national nonprofit organization called Operation Lifesaver. Some of the safety tips will be included as part of his presentation.

All are welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Hester Gilpatric at 345-3040.
