FARMINGTON – Caroline King of Maine Word, in conjunction with University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s Franklin County Office, will present a “Writing for Your Business” workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2, in the Farmington Town Office upstairs meeting room..
The workshop will give small business owners the skills necessary to write effective and creative marketing materials in a one-day session. King and Cooperative Extension’s Marc Edwards will present the interactive and results-oriented workshop.
King, a published writer and editor, will share her expertise to help small business succeed during the tough economic times.
The workshop will help small business owners tell their business story by developing a mission statement for their business; learn how to express the unique benefits of their product or service on the printed page; and learn how to put it together in a compelling business plan.
In addition, participants will learn to develop and use various marketing materials to promote their business.
The hands-on session will teach participants how to create written content for their brochures, Web sites and press releases to spread the word about their business.
The workshop will cost $35 a person and participants will walk away with written materials for their business, along with ideas and resources.
