LEWISTON – The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the Ramada Inn. A social half hour will be followed by lunch at noon.

After the speaker, there will be a short business meeting and a report from Legislative Committee members on recent news, information and updates regarding federal and statewide NARFE concerns.

The speaker will be Sen. Margaret Craven, representing District 16 in the 124th Legislature for the State of Maine. She is an advocate for affordable services for senior citizens.

Craven will speak about her efforts to examine responsible use of State Government to protect the health, safety and welfare of Maine citizens.

Her passion is working to make home-based and community-based care for seniors accessible, affordable and available. A short question and answer period will follow the talk.

Plans for the meeting were made at a recent board meeting at the home of Vi Dumais.

Attending were Martha Robinson, Barbara Lake, Doris Hamil, Roland Metayer and Claire Breton.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 26, when the speaker will be Matt Zidel, meteorologist for Channel 8 WMTW. New members are welcome. For more information, visit www.NARFE.org.
