Color therapy
RUMFORD – “Crayon Color Therapy” will be the subject of a program set for 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Rumford Hospital.
Carleen Dupuis will lead a session on how the subconscious can communicate through spontaneous drawing.
The technique, which requires only a box of crayons and an open mind, was developed in the 1960s by Dr. Bernie Siegel, who explored how colors and shapes can impact physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
The program is free for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers.
Those interested in attending are asked to preregister by calling the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at 795-8250 or 1-877-336-7287.
Class lunch
RUMFORD – The Stephens High School Class of 1946 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, for lunch at Brian’s Bistro.
Winterfest fun
RUMFORD – Winterfest 2009 was just the kind of event Black Mountain of Maine hoped it would be: something affordable for everyone.
New faces appeared on the mountain all weekend, taking part in activities from skiing and snowboarding to lift rides, dog sled rides, sleigh rides, barbecues, sledding, air jumps and a fireworks display.
Staff said hundreds of people enjoyed Black Mountain over the course of the two-day festival.
Volunteers and sponsors made the weekend possible.
