Oxford Hills selects February students

PARIS – The Oxford Hills Rotary Club has announced the February Students of the Month at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

They are Kaylee Millett, freshman; Sarah Smith, sophomore; Sheldon Greene, junior; and Amanda Farr, senior. This is the ninth year of the Rotary Club’s sponsorship of the program.

Each month, high school staff members nominate students who they feel have “made a difference in their classroom.” The goal is to reward teamwork, positive behavior, extra effort and good student citizenship.

The program is coordinated by Maureen Howard through the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange and is part of the character education curriculum at the high school.

The four students were praised for their respect and maturity, volunteer time assisting with Key Club, infectious enthusiasm and dedicated work on the yearbook.

The students’ names and picture were placed on a plaque that hangs in the hallway across from the school library, and they had lunch with the principal.. On Feb. 4 they were honored at a Rotary breakfast.
