FARMINGTON – The Warming Center has moved to St. Joseph’s Parish Hall for February. All the games, puzzles and craft supplies, as well as the chairs, were moved to St. Joseph’s at the close of the day Jan. 29.

The Warming Center will reopen at St. Joseph’s, corner of Middle and Quebec streets, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3. There is parking available beside the church. The upper level of the hall is handicapped accessible; enter through the double doors under the portico.

The Warming Center served an average of 35 meals a day in January. Guests also had hot drinks or bowls of hot soup throughout the day.

The center will be open at St. Joseph’s from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday in February. People of all ages are welcome. There is a toy corner, a reading corner, a puzzle table, and a box of craft supplies.

Those wishing to reserve a SeniorsPlus meal should still call the Henderson Baptist Church by 9 a.m. at 778-2163 the day before to leave a name and the number of meals. Guest may also sign up at the Warming Center for meals in advance.

Contributions toward the cost of the meal are appreciated ($3 is the suggested amount, but a donation of any size is appreciated). The hot lunch is served at noon, but many guests like to begin with a bowl of soup at 11:45.

The SeniorsPlus menu for Tuesday, Feb. 3, includes Salisbury steak, parsley potatoes, stewed tomatoes, dinner roll, pineapple and animal crackers.

The menu for Thursday, Feb. 5, includes fish square, whipped potatoes, broccoli cuts, wheat hamburger roll and assorted fruit.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, the lunch will be chicken cacciatore, brown rice, green beans, wheat bread stick and chunky fruit mix.

On Thursday, Feb. 12, the menu will be turkey tetrazzini, pickled beets, wheat bread, assorted fruit and dessert of the day.
