LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Nov. 10 with 32 members present.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and for the men and women in the armed forces.

Reported on the sick list were Marie Leblanc, Dora Slovak, Norman Duguay, Doris Wilson and Lois Gordon, who is now at the Sandy River Nursing Home in Farmington. George Doiron sang “God Bless the USA”.

Couture announced that on Thursday, Nov. 27, there will be a free Thanksgiving meal served at Mt. Blue High School and everyone is invited. Anyone wishing to attend but is unable to may call ahead and a meal will be delivered.

Flu shots will be given on the following dates: Monday, Nov. 24, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the credit union; Friday, Dec. 5, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Livermore Town Office and 11 a.m. to noon at the Livermore Falls Outpatient Health Clinic.

Diane Getz announced that the VFW is having an “Italian Night” on Saturday, Nov. 15. The cost will be $15 a person.

A Thanksgiving meal will be served at noon Monday, Nov. 17. Several members volunteered to bring in salads, desserts and other dishes.

The 50-50 was won by Fern Doiron. Following the meeting a successful Scotch auction was held and cards and games were played.
