BRIDGTON – The Friends of the Bridgton Public Library will present a lunch time speaker series beginning in July and continuing through the summer. The talks will be held on Wednesdays at noon at the downstairs room in the Bridgton Municipal Building.
The series will kick off on July 9 with children’s author, Lois Lowry, two-time winner of the Newbury Award.
The group hopes the format attracts community interest much like the Brown Bag series at the Portland Public Library.
The schedule will include authors, panel discussions and public debates on issues of interest. Speakers for July will be Lois Lowry, July 9; mystery guest, July 16; Debra Snyder, July 23; Susan Poulin, July 30. The speaking program will begin at 12:15 p.m. and run for 30 minutes. Authors may be available for book signing following their events.
For more information, contact Peter Bollen at 647-4062 or George Bradt at 647-2389. The municipal room is handicapped accessible. Doors open at noon and the series is open to the public.
