LEWISTON – L/A Arts will hold a mask and physical theater workshop, Face-2-Face, for interested students ages 12 to 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 23 to 27, at 221 Lisbon St.

The week-long intensive practical workshop is designed for those who have some theater experience and are inspired to do more. Participants will explore nonverbal communication, physical theater and the power of a fixed attitude – the mask. Preregistration is required.

The workshop will be directed by Andrew Harris, executive director of L/A Arts and longtime theater practitioner and arts educator.

Recent professional work includes appearing on stage at Portland Stage Company and The Public Theatre, on the History Channel and in an independent film.

Harris’ experience and work with masks came about through his formation of a medieval theater company, which toured each summer for 16 years.

While no auditions are required to apply for Face-2-Face, applicants are expected to have a basic understanding of theater and a passion to learn more, and be committed to a “teamwork” approach to the arts. Only a limited number of placements are available, and interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

For more information contact L/A Arts at 782-7228 or online at www.laarts.org where applications are available.
