LEWISTON – The Greater LA Triple Crown planning team recently met to discuss plans to combine efforts for the organizing of three local 5K races: the YMCA Fit Fest, June 14; Emily’s Run, July 26; and the LA Trails Bridge Run, Aug. 24.

The proceeds from sponsorships, entry fees and donations will be used for scholarships to the YMCA’s Camp Connor, YMCA fitness memberships and daycare for those in need, college scholarships for area seniors, the Auburn Public Library and local trail maintenance.

The planning team is seeking corporate sponsors for the Triple Crown as well as donations for age-category prizes for all three races.

The team is comprised of Dan Campbell, Mike Brooks, Doug McFarland, Sam Fletcher, Mike Lecompte, Tish Caldwell, Erin Guay, Wendy Tardif, Steve Robertson and Ralph Fletcher.

The planning team is also looking for more volunteers to help plan the Triple Crown and to help the day of each race. Those interested in sponsoring the event or volunteering should contact Mike Lecompte at 777- 3724 for more information.
