Benefit supper
PARIS – A benefit supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Paris Fire Station, 137 Western Ave. The menu will include roast pork, mashed potato, mixed vegetables, salad, rolls, beverage and assorted desserts. Proceeds will benefit a longtime Paris firefighter. There will be a 50/50 raffle. Cost is $6 for adults; $3, children ages 4 to 12; free, age 3 and under.
Knitting guild
PARIS – The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet Tuesday, March 4, at the First Congregational Church, 17E Main St., Paris. In the event of a storm, if the schools are closed there will be no meeting.
Woodlot workshop
PARIS – A six-week workshop for woodlot owners will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris. Among the topics will be tree ID, deeds and boundaries, timber harvesting, wildlife management, forestry taxes, forestry regulations and working with a consulting forester.
