FARMINGTON – In the spirit of the holiday season, Franklin Community Health Network is again sponsoring a holiday card contest for all children up to and including the sixth grade living in Franklin County and Livermore and Livermore Falls.

Two overall grand prize winners, one for the best design and one for best message, will be selected, as well as runner-up winners from each school.

This year’s theme is “What I love most about celebrating the holidays in Maine.”

Organizer Jill Gray said, “This is the 14th year of this event and hundreds of entries are received each year.”

Entries should be submitted on 8 1/2- by 11-inch paper and should include the student’s name, age and school on the back.

The entry deadline is Friday, Dec. 7. The winning design will be the cover of the 2008 Franklin Community Health Network holiday card and the winning message will be featured inside. The cards will be available for purchase at the hospital’s gift shop during next year’s holiday season.

The holiday cards designed by last year’s winners are now on sale in the hospital gift shop for $2.50 for a package of 10. For more information, contact Jill Gray at 779-2555.
