LEWISTON – YADA (Youth + Adults + Dialogue = Action) facilitator training was held Sept. 29 at the Harward Center for Community Partnerships at Bates College.
The center sponsored the training for 30 youth and adults to enable them to facilitate YADA dialogue groups that will commence from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Lewiston Public Library, 200 Main St.
Other dates are Nov. 1, 8 and 15. Each dialogue group will be facilitated by a team of one adult and one youth.
Holly Lasagna of the Harward Center, said, “I was blown away by the response of those who attended. Everyone was very engaged, and it was exciting to witness the adult-youth partnerships that evolved. If their interaction is any indication of how the community dialogues will go, I believe this will be a very meaningful experience for all involved.”
The goal of the dialogues is to develop and implement actions that will help to make Lewiston/Auburn more youth friendly and more youth empowered.
Those interested in participating in the dialogues may contact YADA Steering Committee Chairman Larry Marcoux at the United Way of Androscoggin County at 795-4000 or [email protected].
