RUMFORD – The Western Mountain Flyers will begin the 2007-2008 season on Sunday, Nov. 4. The program is open to kids ages 4 to 16 who live in Dixfield, Mexico, Rumford, Canton, Peru, Jay, Livermore, Farmington and other neighboring towns.

The cost for the season is $150, plus $35 for insurance, which is due at sign-ups.

Payment plans are available. No previous hockey or skating experience is necessary.There is also a learn-to-skate program for those just starting out, which will begin on Sunday, Oct. 7.

The cost for the program is $15 a session. The Flyers meet on Sunday evenings at Kents Hill Alfond Arena.

Throughout the season, kids will be taught the basic skating skills, stick handling and all the ins and outs of ice hockey. Kids will scrimmage against other local teams and participate in the special events planned for the teams.
