AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA will hold an open house Monday through Friday, Sept. 24 to 28, in conjunction with the national YMCA’s America on the Move Week, which encourages adults and children to get involved with their community and local YMCA while getting fit.
Special events are being held during the week, with the YMCA open to all. The event will allow community members to utilize many of the facilities while learning more about the YMCA and its programs.
The open house schedule is as follows:
Monday, Sept. 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Youth Sports Day, what the Y offers, discovering YMCA volunteer opportunities and Open Gym.
Tuesday, Sept. 25, from noon to 1 p.m., nutrition workshop in yoga room, third floor, then a yoga class at 1:15 p.m. The YMCA will help participants make informed decisions for healthy eating habits and what to look for in the grocery store.
Wednesday, Sept. 26, from noon to 1 p.m., Group Exercise Day, a little taste of everything – step, Group Power, yoga and pilates.
Thursday, Sept. 27, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Prime Time Family Open Swim.
Friday, Sept. 28, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., SilverSneakers Day. Join the YMCA for a muscular strength and range of movement class followed by a free lunch in the community center.
The YMCA offers child care at two locations, youth sports, a teen center, aquatics, summer camps and a wellness center.
