Blais awarded Eastman Scholarship

LEWISTON – Adam Blais, a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, has been awarded the Eastman Scholarship Award by Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre.

The Eastman Scholarship was established several years ago to honor the memory of Roger and Gertrude Schonland Eastman, two of the founders of CLT. Eastman was a past president and he and his wife were active supporters of the theater.

Blais has been an active member of CLT since his appearance in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” several seasons ago. Having caught the “theater bug,” he has been heavily involved in numerous productions at CLT, Monmouth Community Players, St. Dominic Regional High School, and Franco-American Heritage Center. He most recently appeared as Corp. Dunn in CLT’s June production of “A Few Good Men.” Other roles include the following shows: “The Secret Garden,” “Into the Woods,” “Almost, Maine,” “The Liar,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” “You’re A good Man Charlie Brown,” “Scarlet Pimpernel,” “Singin’ in the Rain,” Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”

Blais was active in both the Drama Club at school, serving as President/Treasurer and the Key Club. He has been a student of piano for the past nine years. He will be attending the University of Maine at Orono, with double majors in theater and mass communications.

He is employed at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and participates in the organization THRIVE, Maine’s first Trauma Informed System of Care. He is the son of Paul and Suzanne Blais of Leeds.
