AUBURN – Clover Health Care residents have presented a check for $280 to the Pine Tree Society.
For the past few weeks in the lobby of Clover, a replica tree house built by Sandy Robbins of the Activities Department has been calling attention to the work of two residents in raising money for the Pine Tree Society.
Jack Jackson and Marcel Lemelin, who have attended the society’s Pine Tree Camp for 36 and 22 years, respectively, collected donations for the construction of a handicapped accessible treehouse. It will be the only handicapped accessible treehouse in the state.
The men presented $280 to Erin Rice, marketing and communications director of the camp. The treehouse will take between six and eight weeks to build and require a thousand volunteer hours. Once finished, the treehouse is expected to last at least 50 years.
For those who wish to make donations, send contributions to the Pine Tree Society, P.O. Box 518, 149 Front St., Bath, ME 04530 or visit www.pinetreesociety.org.
