Memorial service

AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. Memorial services for departed members lost during the past year will be conducted, with Lucy Cowles in charge assisted by Chaplain Patricia Donohue. Following the meeting and a bag lunch, bingo will be played.

When the group met on May 9 under the direction of President Merry Strout, there were 46 members present. Welcomed back were Donald and Lorielie Fyfe from their winter vacation and Lyra Allard was welcomed as a guest. Home garden-cut flowers, presented by Eleanor Jewel, were the major centerpieces for the tables at lunch.

Trip Chairwoman Evelyn Sawin reported she has four seats available on a trip to Foster’s Lobster House, York, on June 22. For reservation/details, see Sawin at Robin Dow meetings or phone her at 998-4577. The trip is also open to nonmembers. The fee of $49 includes transportation, dinner and bingo on the bus.

Attendance prize winners were Evelyn Rose and Marge Gardner; pot of gold, Anna Gavel, Guy Donohue and Virginia Howe.

Church sale

LISBON FALLS – Holy Trinity Parish, 67 Frost Hill Ave., will have a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, rain or shine. Funds will help pay the parish hall building loan.

Sellable donations are welcome. However, no clothes, computers or appliances will be accepted. All donations should be clean, unbroken, working and have all parts. Final acceptance of items is at the discretion of the committee, because unsold items will have to be disposed of, sometimes at a cost. Other items will be considered on a case by case basis due to limited storage.

Items can be dropped off at the church from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If the above times are not convenient, call Pat Tardiff at 353-5035.

Anyone interested in helping the parish or purchasing a table for $10 to sell their own items should call Tardiff. The deadline to reserve a table is Monday, June 4.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on May 21 were: first, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; second, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird; third, Helen Little and Charles Bartlett; fourth, Paul Beegel and Rosemarie Goodwin.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 783-1734 for more information. No game will be played on Memorial Day, May 28.
