LEWISTON – Museum L-A’s new exhibition space in the Bates Mill Complex, Lewiston, sponsored by Bates Mill L.L.C., recently got a boost from a Bates College group.

With paint rollers, brushes and power tools in hand, Bates alumni, students, parents, families and friends spent a Saturday morning helping prepare the space for the museum’s first maj`or exhibit of its Millworkers Oral History and Documentary Photo Project.

The group volunteered through the third annual Bates National Day of Service, which provided volunteer service to local communities in 18 locations coast to coast.

The event was coordinated through Bates College’s Harward Center for Community Partnerships, of which Museum L-A is a major partner, and the office of Alumni and Parent Programs.
