On the night of February 28, Team Monmouth held the fourth annual Father/Daughter Dance. The cost was $15 per couple. Many people attended the dance; somewhere around 150 to 200 people came. The girls wore the most adorable dresses, and their father’s wore tuxedos. As the dance wore on, the DJ played a variety of songs. Many Miley Cyrus songs and Taylor Swift, too. All of the little girls loved the food, they couldn’t stop talking about it. Of course, the fathers liked it also.
Many mothers volunteered to donate food. There was everything from fruit and vegetables to cookies and brownies. There was lots of water, and there was homemade fruit punch, too. Team Monmouth, made up of many people who run the dances, spent all day Saturday decorating the Monmouth Middle School Gym.
There was also a raffle. Many people donated homemade jewelry and blankets; there were stuffed animals, gift cards for restaurants and, of course, beauty salons, too. There was a photographer to take pictures of the couples during the dance. The turnout was great, and everyone had a good time. It’s something that many fathers and daughters look forward to every year.
