Women’s classes
PARIS – Women Unlimited will present classes in South Paris starting in May.
“Construction Math” will be held May 17, 24, 31 and June 7. The 15-hour certificate course will include a review of basic math skills, construction-specific math applications and measurements.
“Introductory Blueprint Reading” will be held May 11, 18 and 25. It is a 12-hour NCCER certificate-bearing course taught by Women Unlimited’s Executive Director Lib Jamison. For more information, contact Women Unlimited at (800) 281-5259.
Yard sale
OXFORD – His Place Teen Center will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday, April 26 to 30 (weather permitting), on Route 26 next to the fish market.
The center is collecting salable items for the first-of-the-season outdoor yard sale and for the new Alpha and Omega Thrift Shop opening Tuesday, May 1.
The center has a good variety of appliances, furniture, couches, clothes, shoes and books.

Trio to play
BRYANT POND – A trio from the Maine Kanteles will perform at an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in celebration of National Library Week at the Whitman Memorial Library. The kantele is a traditional Finnish lap-harp. The program is free.
Women’s workshop
PARIS – Women, Work and Community will offer a free two-hour workshop designed to help women identify issues important to them, learn about related public policy and legislation, then practice advocacy skills.
This workshop is recommended as preparation for joining women from around the state on May 8 for a day at the State House. The workshop will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Western Maine University and Community College, South Paris.

Fish stocking
PARIS – Rainbow or brook trout stocking order forms and permits are available at the Oxford County SWCD. The last day to order trout is Tuesday, May 8. The trout will be delivered at the office at noon Tuesday, May 15.
