RUMFORD – Kortnee Hill of Rumford, a senior at Mountain Valley High School, has been selected to receive the 2007 Principal’s Award, Principal Matthew Gilbert has announced. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Hill has demonstrated outstanding capabilities throughout her high school years, and she has proven to be a scholar and a leader of her peers and in the community, said Gilbert. She will attend either Norwich University or Roger Williams University to major in architecture.

Hill and Gilbert will attend an honors luncheon at the Bangor Civic Center on Saturday, April 7.

The luncheon recognizes the outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler.
