FARMINGTON – Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community is offering a one-time “Introduction to Matched Savings” workshop on Tuesday, April 3, at the Farmington center, 108 Perham St.

The workshop will help individuals learn about matched savings accounts that may help further their education, receive job training or start or grow a business. Those who qualify may apply to open a Family Development Account so that every $1 saved can be matched by $2 from public and private investors.

Women, Work and Community is a statewide nonprofit organization committed to improving the economic lives of Maine women and their families. The organization works with individuals “where they are” and provides them with support, guidance and the tools they need to take the next steps toward a more promising future.

Women, Work and Community provides individual assistance and group training in building careers, starting and growing businesses, planning for financial security and becoming community leaders.
