Softball sign-ups
SUMNER – Softball sign-ups for girls ages 7 to 18 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 24, at the Sumner Town Office. Girls may also sign up at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School.

Book discussions
WATERFORD – As part of the Oxford Hills Reads, One Book, One Community program, the Waterford Library will host two discussions of “Yeh Yeh’s House” by Evelina Chao, the 2007 selection, on Wednesday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m. and at 7 p.m.
The book is a memoir about the author’s visit to her Chinese relatives in the company of her mother. It is also a vivid description of a mother-daughter relationship.
Copies of the book are for sale at the library for $5. Information about other programs in the Oxford Hills Reads series is available in the library or by visiting http://www.oxfordhillsreads.blogspot.com/.
Bunny breakfast
NORWAY – Norway Rehab and Living Center, 29 Marion Ave., invites children age 10 and younger for breakfast with the Easter Bunny, along with story time and photos, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at the center.

Granges meet
WATERFORD – Waterford Grange 479 met at the North Waterford Congregational for a joint meeting with Bear Mountain Grange of South Waterford. The meeting was preceded by a potluck supper.
Following supper, the group was entertained by “Meant To Be,” a quartet made up of members of the Mollyockett Chorus. The meeting was called to order by Waterford Master Linda Hooker. Reports were made by the Community Service Committee and Agricultural Committee. A walk-a-thon to benefit the church steeple fund will be held later in the spring.
An open house and community service night with a supper will be held Friday, April 23, when an award will be presented to a deserving citizen of the community.
The next meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 9, at the hall on Route 35. Visitors are welcome.
Bag sale
HARTFORD – The clothing center of the Hartford Community Church will hold a bag sale from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7. The center is located on Church Street across from the church.
