Rebecca and I have both auditioned for the spring play. The spring play is “Lady Dracula.” I had plenty of acting experience, being Toto in “Wizard of Oz” and narrator in “Aladdin.”
I, Becca, have had extremely little acting experience. I did skits in plays for school when I was little and put on stupid shows for my family, but nothing as big as “Wizard of Oz.” I got news of the spring play and took advantage of it.
I, Madison, got the part of Lady Dracula/Mina Alucard. The play is about a vampire who owns a school. The school is full of students who were chosen to be in this particular school. But when a student goes missing, things start to go a little off track.
I, Becca got the part of the most gullible student in the academy. Her name is Opal. She believes that there is a werewolf around the academy grounds. And the graveyard out her bedroom window scares her as much as it scares the rest of the students, but more!
This play is filled with surprises, many turns and spooks. The whole cast is the best there is. This play will truly have you on the edge of your seats the whole time. Make sure kids know what they’re in for.
We also want to add that this play is directed by Mrs. Renee Davis. She is the best. We really hope that this play will turn out to be a Tripp Middle favorite. Personally, this is my first play as a lead. Or a speaking lead that is. This is Becca’s first part period.
I can’t believe that Madison and I have the chance to shine again. It’s been only a month since we recovered from a crazy schedule with “Wizard of Oz” and Mrs. Applebee. We don’t have the music teacher anymore, but we wish she was here and we are dedicating this piece to her, Mrs. Appebee, and hope that she will keep us in her heart for years to come.
Rebecca and I will always act. Acting is our passion; whether it’s in the shower or on a stage. We will always be acting at some point!
Being Lady Dracula is awesome. You might never think being evil is cool, but it is. You have no idea how fun it is to act like someone else whom you would never become. This has been a roller coaster for me. I mean I never even thought about being a lead and look here I was Toto. Not one speaking line; just a bark. That’s it. But all I want to say is no matter what part you have, it’s something, and without you, there would be no play. The playwrite put that part in there for a reason. If he/she didn’t need that part, it wouldn’t be there. So remember that and always be yourself.
