WINTHROP – Kristin Walton has been named Mrs. Brunswick International 2007 and will represent that area in the Mrs. Maine International Competition on Sunday, March 11, at the Winthrop Performing Arts Center.

Mrs. Brunswick is the wife of Bob Walton and together, they have three sons and reside in Brunswick.

Walton is a licensed manicurist and has, for eight years, had her own nail business at Judy’s Hair Biz in Brunswick. She is also a part-time nanny for two little girls. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, golf, bowling, pilates and spending time with her family.

The platform issues she will speak on throughout her reign are depression in women and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Walton has lived with depression most of her adult life and would like to use her experiences and knowledge of the condition to help women. She has also recently been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, a hormone imbalance, whose symptoms can contribute to women’s depression. Walton is planning to start a support group in the area.

Pageant competition includes a personal interview/platform (50 percent of score), evening gown (25 percent) and aerobic wear (25 percent). The winner of the Mrs. Maine International 2007 title will be crowned by her husband, receives a prize package valued more than $15,000 and represent the state at the Mrs. International Competition in Chicago.
