LEWISTON – Maine Educational Opportunity Center Adviser Christy Le will present an “Essentials of College Planning” workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.

The center is a federally funded program that helps qualified adults make the transition toward a college education. The program, which is housed at the University of Maine, provides assistance for qualified adults living in Maine and helps them go to whichever college or university they choose.

Services, which are free, include GED/SAT preparation, career counseling, college planning, financial aid counseling, referrals/advocacy and college admissions process.

The free interactive workshop outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills. Preregistration is required. For more information or to register, call 1-800-281-3703.
