LEWISTON – The art work of Melanie Ness of Auburn is being featured during November by the Woman’s Hospital Association of Central Maine Medical Center.
Ness graduated from Edward Little High School and received a BS in food and human nutrition from the University of Maine. She holds an MS in human development from the University of Maine also.
Ness studied art for 10 years with Irene Duplissis of Leeds and took seminars and short courses with Carlton Plummer, Marguerite Lawlor and Janet Condon of the Maine College of Art and Jan Kilburn.
Her medium is watercolor and oils and her favorite subjects are doors, windows and still life. Ness has exhibited at Central Maine Medical Center, Auburn Public Library, LA College-Area Artists 99, Black Watch Pub, Maine Medical Center, Mr. Paperback, Black Watch Pub, Book Burrow, Thomas College and Jorgensen’s Café. She has earned numerous awards and purchase prizes.
The Woman’s Hospital Association supports Central Maine Medical Center and its patients. Those who would like to join the association or exhibit in the monthly artist showings should call 795-2295.
