Saint Dom’s posted the results of the mock election that the A.P. Government class held. The school had a 63% voter turnout and McCain received 60 votes while Obama received 48. The Electoral College also voted in favor of McCain. Though voter opinions differed in the national election, A.P. Government was pleased with the students who cast a vote.
Barack Obama recently became the president elect; his election was a monumental accomplishment for him as well as the nation. Other countries have renewed respect for the United States; the belief in the infinite possibilities that this country offers has been restored in many countries. As for American citizens, everyone, whether republican, democrat or otherwise, is interested and has great expectations for the new administration and are excited for a change in government. With a nearly filibuster- proof Democratic Congress, Obama should be able to easily implement new plans and legislation. The Democrats will have an almost unhindered chance to redirect America.
