GREENE – A benefit baked bean supper held for Ted and Pat Webber at the Androscoggin Grange 8 recently, was a huge success.
The sum of $2,153 was raised from the supper, donations, afghan/quilt raffle and 50/50.
Webber was recently diagnosed with cancer. He has worked as the Greene Transfer Station attendant since 1991.
Lucille Giguere won the afghan, donated by John Fogg and made by former Town Clerk Nellie Fogg. Roger Bussiere won the second prize, and Claire Tremaine, third, quilts handmade by Sheri Hanson. Helen Hewins won the 50/50, but donated her winnings of $51 back to the Webbers.
