Paramore is clearly starting a Riot! Well, I’m saying that for two reasons. One- they are one the top bands in the Alternative Rock Scene and Two- their second album (RIOT!) has been a success since it was released on June 12th, 2007. Not only does Paramore have catchy song lyrics and songs that make you want to dance around, but also Paramore has style. The lead singer, Hayley Williams, has inspired the way teenage girls dress, think, act, and most of all: style their hair. Hayley’s orange choppy and crazy hairstyle has teens all over the country copying her look.

It may not be a bad thing though because in the 2007 Reader Awards in Alternative Press magazine, she was voted the best female singer and the female rocker with the most style. Hayley Williams also was voted the #2 sexiest rocker last year in Kerrang! magazine.

By now if you don’t know who Paramore is, I would have to say either you don’t listen to rock music or you’re just plain crazy! But seriously, many people don’t know much about the band. They just heard “Misery Business” and “Crushcrushcrush” on the radio and thought they were some new band. But they aren’t. They have been around for a couple of years now and have three CD’s out, including one EP. Paramore is an alternative punk band from Franklin, Tennessee. The band consists of lead vocalist Hayley Williams, lead guitarist Josh Farro, bassist Jeremy Davis and drummer Zac Farro. Paramore released their debut “All We Know Is Falling” in 2005 on the Fueled By Ramen record label, an EP entitled “The Summer Tic” in 2006, and their third release “Riot!” in 2007. Riot! has sold so many copies throughout the world that the album has gone gold. Paramore has been voted “Best New Band” in many rock music magazines, and that right there shows how big Paramore has gotten.

Their success with Riot! has literally changed the alternative rock music scene, as we all know it. Hayley’s style has changed the way most teenage girls dress. Their songs have taken over the radio. Yes I will admit, Paramore has gotten much more popular since the release of Riot!, but that doesn’t make them a better band. They have always been an amazing group with a lot of talent, Riot! just shows us all how much they really have to offer. So, the next time you’re on iTunes wondering what to download, get yourself some Paramore songs and be sure to rock out to “Misery Business”. Pretty much everyone likes the song because Paramore is so hard to resist. Hey! Even my mom likes that song now.
