RUMFORD – The River Valley Technology Center, the River Valley Growth Council and the River Valley Chamber of Commerce will present a new series of business lunch and learn seminars.

The first in a series of six will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the River Valley Technology Center, 60 Lowell St. The cost of $10 includes lunch. Preregistration is required by calling Beverly at 369-0396 or e-mail beverly@rvcg.org by Friday, Jan. 13.

The first topic will be “Business Planning – Part I” presented by Greg Gould. Gould is a certified business counselor in the Auburn office of the Maine Small Business Development Center hosted by the Androscoggin Council of Governments. He has years of experience working with small and large businesses.

The prebusiness workshop includes discussion on the basic qualities of entrepreneurs; defining a business plan; basics of marketing; and introduction to business financial planning.

The Lunch and Learn seminars are intended to provide information to entrepreneurs, start-ups and existing businesses in an affordable way. Anyone can gather resources and information for long-term success. In addition, the seminars are intended to facilitate networking among businesses or entrepreneurs in similar activities.
